Lira City – During the Lango NRM Entry meeting held at Lira Hotel today, the NRM’s Electoral Commission chairman Dr. Tango Odoi said that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has no business with individuals who have not officially joined the party. His remarks appeared directed towards the Minister of Gender, Labor, and Social Development, Betty Amongi, whom he criticized for not fully aligning with the party.
“She was given a soft landing to work as a minister, yet now she is fighting NRM,” Odoi said, questioning Amongi’s loyalty to the ruling party. He urged her to decide where her political allegiance lies, asserting that NRM members recognize Minister Jane Ruth Aceng as their representative in Lira City.
The meeting was attended by several key figures, including NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong, Director of External Affairs Maj. Polla Awic, and a host of religious, cultural, and political leaders from the NRM. The gathering served to strengthen the party’s presence in the region, with discussions focused on consolidating support within the Lango sub-region.
