MTN Uganda Donates Shs 10 Million for the Coronation of Lango’s New Won Nyaci

MTN Uganda has contributed Shs 10 million to support the upcoming coronation of the new Won Nyaci of Lango, Dr. Eng. Moses Michael Odongo Okune. The donation was presented at the Lango Cultural Center by Philip Odoi, who represented MTN during the handover of a dummy cheque.

Odoi noted that this is not MTN’s first time supporting cultural institutions in Uganda, citing previous contributions to the Toro, Bunyoro, Ker Alur, and Ker Kwaro Acholi cultural institutions. He further pledged MTN’s continued support for cultural causes, including the Lango coronation.

Bosco Ogwang Edola, the Awitong of Omolatar Odyakol and chairperson of the coronation fundraising committee, expressed gratitude to Dr. Eng. Moses Odongo Okune for his dedication in mobilizing resources for the event.

Geoffrey Etwop, assistant chairperson of the committee and Awitong of the Ober clan, shared that the committee has already raised over Shs 600 million for the coronation. He encouraged his fellow Owitong to come together in support of the cause.
