Confusion Over Lango Leadership As Odur Ebi’s Resignation Video Circulates

The son of Yosam Odur Ebi, the de facto Paramount Chief of the Lango Cultural Foundation, has refuted a video circulating on social media claiming that his father has resigned from his position.
Anthony Olobo Odur, who also serves as the clan chief of Atek Omwonpel, addressed the issue following the release of a video in which his father, Mzee Yosam Odur Ebi, stated that he was no longer interested in cultural leadership due to ongoing tensions.
In the video, Odur Ebi explained that, for the sake of peace, he had decided to relinquish power after many years of service, during which he had contributed significantly to the development of Lango.
He further revealed that he had written to the Ugandan government expressing his desire to step down and rest from cultural leadership. He added that any attempt by the government to keep his name in the gazette would essentially be forcing Lango to oppose him.
Odur Ebi also noted that his continued leadership could lead to unnecessary legal struggles for Lango, as he would be violating the rules after formally notifying the government of his resignation. Instead, he expressed his wish to serve as a senior advisor to the newly elected Paramount Chief rather than engage in power struggles.
He concluded by praying for wisdom and blessings for the new leadership of the Lango Cultural Institution.
However, Anthony Olobo Odur dismissed the video, stating that it was outdated. He asserted that after the video was recorded, Mzee Yosam Odur Ebi changed his mind and decided to continue leading the Lango Cultural Foundation, a role he still holds today.

Mzee made a wise decision and no one else can decide for him not even the son himself however, the son and his former speaker and his former servants can still confuse him as usual but mzee has taken a decision.
